Human Systems Research, Inc. is a nonprofit scientific and educational institution, that has pursued basic and applied research in archaeology and related scientific and historic fields since 1972. HSR was founded with a focus on the archaeology of the Tularosa Basin in particular and on southern New Mexico in general.

...HSR is administered by a board of directors. Scholars and administrators from major institutions in the Southwest work with HSR, overseeing the high standards and quality of efficiency that have characterized HSR's history in cultural-resources research and management. The corporate officers and employees have archaeological and cultural-resource management experience throughout New Mexico, with experience in Arizona, Colorado, Texas, and other western states. HSR's senior staff members are both scientists and managers whose business is assisting government and private agencies with up-to-date compliance under Cultural Resource Management laws and government directives. Throughout its 35-year corporate history, HSR has actively engaged in archaeological research to assist agencies in policy decisions, management of resources, and planning. HSR staff members are well-versed on all applicable regulations relating to preservation, registration, and curation of resources identified in conjunction with federally funded undertakings.
