Testing along US 70

Testing is conducted as part of the recordation or evaluation process for archaeological sites. Test excavations are most often conducted to evaluate site potential for the National Register of Historic Places. HSR has extensive experience developing testing plans and testing sites including projects for:

  • The Joint Task Force-Six maneuvers along the International Border between the United States and Mexico;
  • The Aerial Cable Test Capability area on White Sands Missile Range (WSMR);
  • Pipeline rights-of-way in northwest El Paso and Anthony Gap, New Mexico for the El Paso Corporation;
  • New Mexico Department of Transportation projects at Brazito, along U.S. 54 between Tularosa and Carrizozo, and along U.S. 380 between Carrizozo and Hondo; and,
  • The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the Doña Ana County Santa Teresa Airport runway extension project.
